It’s
my mum’s birthday,
Hip,
hip, hooray,
She
is seventy-eight
And
looking great,
I
look after her
And
she after me:
My
older brother
Is
taking her for tea.
I’m
seeing her later on,
I
hope she has some fun,
She
has been down of late,
But
is far from heaven’s gate.
Her
partner, who has dementia
Will
not remember it’s October.
