My
mum’s partner has dementia,
His
memories and thoughts waver,
He
is shadow of his former-self
Now
suffering this ill-health.
He
has lost his respect and dignity
With
this slow torturing insanity,
But
we all persevere with him here
As
he is still our near and dear.
My
mother isn’t coping well
Which
our family can tell,
As
Brian, puts her through hell
With
a tormenting spell of repel.
But
he can be loving and doting
When
he remembers he’s caring.

A sonnet.

It must be heartbreaking for your mum Andrew, Will be thinking of you both.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
Thank you Yvonne for your kind words. It is heart-breaking for my mother, especially as she is ten years older than he is - he was supposed to look after my mother during their retirement years! He started suffering from dementia a year before his retirement date! A crying shame for all the pain my mother has to sustain! Blessings to you. Love love, Andrew. Bye.
