But I Tried

You have to sense the tone

In some of my typed pieces,

As some express being alone

With some positive graces,

And others express company

And with that I am happy,

But my most recent Partner

Was not that much of a lover,

She liked to stay in at home

Leaving me to stray and roam,

But I am honest with integrity

And felt sorry for unwell she,

But I had to think of myself

And my deteriorating health,

So I sadly split up with Di’,

But I aptly gave it a good try.
