My Mate Nearly At Heaven's Gate

Peter drinks too much,
He is sadly out of touch
With how to duly behave
Leading him to the grave.

A year to live the Doctor said
With Peter being off his head,
He has now laid his final bed
Expecting soon to be dead.

He has lived life with strife
And has duly tossed the dice
To decide to act nicely nice
Or act like ice with a price.

He will make you pay
For acting in sad affray
As he has responsibility
To act with apt decency.

He has honour in his honest name,
And while he is diagnosed as insane,
He still duly plays the respectful game
Of being humbly and modestly tame.
