Going Bravely On

The D-Day landings were a success,
Our brave troops were blessed
With having more and not less
Of ammunition and arms to stress
The enemy out in a game of chess
With no mates to make a wise move
There fate was to heavily lose -
An option they did not choose.

Our soldiers were very patriotic
With many being in the thick of it
During times of the enemy's shit,
But they had themselves to blame
Following Hitler who was insane
Playing an unruly game of gain.
